A Closer Look of Bohol

My Friend Elmer have been encouraging me to see Bohol since 2006. It's not his birthplace though but he seems so attached to the place aside from it's where his wife comes from. I have already in mind that people are going there because they want to see the famous tarsier, the smallest primate known to exist today.

I hesitated then but this time i make it sure to include it in my sked. And really what an experience it is when i have seen closely the picturesque Bohol!

The 49 towns are interconnected and quite live a placid lifestyle. I can sense people here are peace-loving that's why a lot of tourists are coming in. They are ready to assist strangers to go around and view the beautiful spots in the city.

I love to saunter around the beaches and i am very lucky to be billeted in one of the famous resorts of Bohol. I stay in the best place so to speak, truly living with their famous ad. The pristine skies covering the white sands makes it perfect for people to escape from their busy work and get a well-deserved rest.

One reason why people are coming back is their sumptuous food. Seafood dishes are well-served that truly satiate your gusto. I love their calamares sliced in small bits that can easily be chewed.

Of course the main highlight is Tarsi himself, also famous in the karaoke microphone being sold today. Get one now, he he...

I thought it would bite me when my friend placed the tarsier in my hand. I am a little afraid you know. But it is not to be afraid of. They would just stay in one place and would do no harm unless frightened. They eat mostly insects. Tarsiers are nocturnal animals which means they are only active when night time comes. It is sad people are taking pictures using their camera flashes which could destroy their vision accordingly.

Of course I am indeed a witness to the truly splendid nature's elaborate creation- the chocolate hills. After trekking the stairs up ( i forgot the number, he he)I see the beautiful hills spread as far as my eyes could see. They say the hills turn into dark brown like the color of the chocolate we love to kiss and eat. I believe it is currently nominated as one of the new wonders of nature. I would not be surprised if it will go all the way to the top.

The site of the blood compact and the baclayon church added to my trip's delight. They represent the Spanish influence in the community. And to end my day's trip Elmer surprise me to visit Prony, the largest phyton in captivity, being taken cared by one family in the area.

I hope to revisit bohol someday even as i enjoy the many natural spots it offers to the tourists. Wishing to see butanding (giant dolphin) someday in its famous island. I go home from tagbilaran airport with a serenade from the singing blinds: 'Hasta manana', 'Till tomorrow, we'll see again.
