White Water Rafting
What it is? I have no idea. Some friends told me it is good. Really good. One has to experience to prove it's goodness.
Is it a drug? No.Come on. I saw a poster of people rafting in the river. I thought it's just a common stuff good for those who are outgoing, people who have nothing to do. It's like a modern version of banca riding or canooing only in strong currents or rough river.
Hmmm... Because i have nothing to do in my vacation, off i went to cdo. wow, exhilarating indeed!
well, just a little info. rafting, according to wikipedia free encyclopedia, is one of the earliest means of transportation used as a means of shipping people, hunting and transferring food. Today it is a recreational activity to navigate a river or other bodies of water, done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water in order to thrill or excite the raft passengers.
almost three hours we sailed, so to speak, the cdo river. our guide alan patiently taught us the mechanics of paddling, when and how to paddle in times when it is needed. the place is indeed a magnificent view. the thrill and excitement traversing every rough point is unexplainable. there is a lull after each rough point and one cant wait to go on to the next more strong and more rough river. along the journey we saw plenty of stations named according to its characteristic like at the first rough point we were twirled downward and then upward again till we were awashed to the main river. that point is named as washing machine . Indeed we were like placed under the real washing machine.
we also got out from the rafter and managed to see a small cave separating the cdo and bukidnon rivers. anyone is taught to remember that at any point the left side is always the location of cdo river. hanging trees and wild and beautiful exotic plants appeared before our magnified eyes as we continue our rafting. small green-colored snakes freely lie on some of the twigs. Afar we saw how the nature perfectly built like drawn to a beautiful canvass. Whew!
after going through 18 rough stations we finally got our way back. everyone swam and even flip flopped the raft to add thrill to the journey. indeed, it made us tired but in our minds and spirits one longing is fulfilled, that is, aprreciated the beauty of the environment. everyone wished to go back someday for longer and more rough whitewater rafting experience.
