SHARE THE BLESSINGS

Today happens the most important day in the lives of every muslim, the eidl adha or the feast of the hajj. More importantly, glorifying the greatness of Allah resonates in each corner of the globe.

We celebrate this day. We enjoy each moment together with our friends and families. We hop from one house to another to say salam and greet our fellow muslims. What transpires in us is the belongingness and unity of the ummah in the community despite the cruel times we are facing.

Back in mecca where millions of true believers partake the blessings and forgiveness of Allah. And blessings to them for their sacrifices and sincere prayers! We shared their burdens when we fasted during the day of arafat. The non-pilgrims believed to have gained the blessings of Allah as Saheeh Muslim reported that The Messenger(Sallallahu Alaihi Wa-salam) said that the believers who fasted on the day of arafat would have expiated their sins committed during the previous and the next years.

We believe how this day is important to us. The Messenger(Sallallahu Alaihi Wa-ssallam) declared his last sermon on this day, too. He said: "This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you,And have chosen for you Islam as your religion" (Surah Al-Maidah 5:3).

"Labbayk, Allahumma, Labbayk", which means "Here i am, Oh Allah, at your service", is the chant we used to utter during the period of hajj. Back in 2002 when i got my unparalleled journey in mecca, i felt my life's purpose fulfilled. To this day, I hope we will continue to chant the same motto with pure intention and spotless heart. And we pray all muslim will be granted forgiveness and eternal peace.
